Season for Peak Fees: 05/15 to 09/15 George J. Hatfield State Recreation Area is surrounded by the Merced River. Located in the San Joaquin Valley, this park offers swimming and fishing. The area was once the home of Native Americans. The park has many trees and is home to various wildlife, especially birds. The park has picnic areas. The recreation area is at 4394 North Kelly Road in Hilmar. From Interstate 5, take the Newman exit into Newman and continueeast on County Road J-18 for five miles; the park entrance is just pastthe San Joaquin River bridge. |

Discount Pass must be presented at the time of check in. Your DMV Disabled Placard/License Plate does not automatically give you a discount on your campsite. You will need to obtain a CA State park-issued Disabled Discount Pass (DDP) or Distinguished Veterans Pass (DVP). Fees include entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle or trailer, additional vehicles will be charged per night at the park. Although your site may hold 2 or more vehicles, your reservation only covers 1 vehicle (except for group or specialty sites). Reservations are available year round. To book a Group site you must have at least NINE occupants. |
